Ethereum patches Prysm before Sepolia tests a gas-limit increase to 200 million
Ethereum developers released Prysm version 7.2.1 ahead of a Glamsterdam capacity test on Sepolia. The update fixes a configuration issue that could have led validators using outdated settings to produce low-capacity blocks during the test [1] [2].
The test raises Sepolia’s gas limit from about 60 million to 200 million—more than three times its previous capacity—to assess how the network handles more computational work per block. Developers will use the public test to inform decisions about capacity changes that could eventually be considered for mainnet [3] [2] [4].
