Strategy keeps Bitcoin holdings steady while selling MSTR to fund STRC dividends and buybacks
Michael Saylor’s Strategy said it made no Bitcoin purchases or sales between Aug. 10 and Aug. 16, leaving its holdings unchanged at 840,447 BTC. At the same time, the company sold 3.46 million shares of MicroStrategy (MSTR) for about $333.7 million in net proceeds during the week [1] [2] [3] [4].
Strategy said it used the MSTR-sale proceeds to fund STRC preferred-stock dividends ($52.4 million) and to repurchase STRC shares under its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program ($132.2 million for 1.39 million shares). The firm also increased its U.S. dollar reserve by about $149.1 million (to $4.8 billion as of Aug. 16), while continuing STRC buybacks alongside the equity issuance [1] [2] [5] [3] [4].
Across the period, Strategy kept its Bitcoin treasury flat while funding dividends, STRC repurchases, and a higher U.S. dollar reserve through MSTR share sales [1] [2] [4].
