Coinbase CEO Armstrong says US crypto clarity would proceed regardless of CLARITY Act Senate outcome
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong told CNBC that the U.S. crypto industry would receive regulatory clarity whether or not the Senate passes the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15 [1] [2] [3].
Armstrong described the week as a two-track scenario: durable legislation if a Senate procedural (cloture) vote succeeds, and continued clarity efforts even if it fails [2] [3].
One report said the proposed CLARITY Act would split regulatory authority between the SEC and the CFTC, and that Democratic senators were pushing for enhanced ethics provisions and anti-money laundering protections [4].
