Exchange announcements and custody evidence
Exchange coverage can concern trading, custody, access to withdrawals or the legal entity operating a service. These should not be treated as one question. Proof-of-reserves reports can provide a snapshot of assets, but the SEC cautions that they are not a complete set of financial statements and do not give the whole picture of liabilities.
Questions to ask of each report
- Which operator and jurisdiction does the announcement name?
- Are customer liabilities, withdrawal conditions and the scope of assurance disclosed alongside reserves?
