Hunter Biden planned LAPTOP token expected to launch Sept. 9 on Coinbase Base with airdrop

Crypto traders were reported to be buying into Hunter Biden’s planned “LAPTOP” token ahead of its launch, while one exchange (Kraken) reportedly deleted a promotional post after backlash and a media group named in the token’s distribution said it did not support the project ^[1].

Reporting from multiple outlets says the LAPTOP token is scheduled to debut on September 9 on Coinbase’s Base blockchain, with 1 billion tokens stated to be in circulation ^{[2] [3]}.

One report says the project plans an airdrop equal to 20% of total supply aimed at TRUMP token holders, plus Substack followers and select mailing list recipients ^[2].

Another report says founding members will control 30% of tokens under a six-month lock followed by a two-year vesting period, and that the supply could be reduced by a burn mechanism tied to triggers such as Bitcoin reaching new peaks or Democratic election wins ^[2].

Lower-authority reporting also claims the token’s design includes an airdrop for holders who lost money on the TRUMP memecoin, and it links the project’s naming to the widely publicized laptop controversy from the 2020 U.S. presidential election cycle ^[4].
