Shinhan Card launches Solana testnet pilot for merchant stablecoin payments focusing on noncustodial wallets

Shinhan Card, one of South Korea’s largest credit card companies, has entered a partnership with the Solana Foundation to develop and test stablecoin payment infrastructure and has begun an advanced proof-of-concept this year, the companies said ^{[1] [2]}.

The initiative will run on Solana’s testnet to simulate real-world consumer-to-merchant payment scenarios and to evaluate stablecoin transaction capabilities, with pilot trials focused on security and stability of non-custodial wallets and other operational conditions ^{[3] [4]}.
