Reading Solana network news
A Solana transaction contains instructions and signatures authorizing changes. Its instructions execute together: if an instruction fails, the state changes are reverted. Transaction activity, application adoption and the price of SOL answer different questions. A new application announcement by itself does not establish how many people use it or whether its activity is sustained.
Questions to ask of each report
- Is the announcement a proposal, a test deployment, or a live mainnet release?
- Do reported transaction counts distinguish successful transactions, failures and the measurement window?
