More than $1M reportedly withdrawn from Avici Solana neobank accounts after phishing-related attack

Reports say Avici, a Solana-based neobank that issues Visa cards backed by users’ crypto, was subject to a live attack in which an attacker drained customer funds and had taken more than $1 million by press time ^{[1] [2]}.

Crypto Briefing reported that more than $600,000 was withdrawn from Avici user accounts in the incident, describing it as a phishing-related drain ^[3].

The Defiant said Avici’s card is sold as self-custodial, with balances held in on-chain accounts users authorize through passkeys rather than seed phrases ^[1].

Bitcoin Sistemi cited on-chain data and stated the attacker used about $190 in initial capital to steal approximately $670,000 worth of assets from user accounts, and also reported that the AVICI token price dropped by over 45% after the incident ^[4].
