Cosmos Labs advises Cosmos EVM chains to pause validators after incident impacting module users

Cosmos Labs said an ongoing security incident involving the Cosmos EVM module has affected users and has advised contacted Cosmos EVM-based chains to halt validator operations while the issue is addressed; Cosmos Labs also said it has not yet disclosed the vulnerability, affected chains, or losses and plans to publish a post-mortem after resolution ^{[1] [2] [3]}.

Reporting linked to the directive says MANTRA halted its mainnet for roughly 30 hours before restarting, KiiChain reported that an attacker exploited a Cosmos EVM vulnerability 18 times and moved about 148.3 million KII tokens, and TAC suspended operations at block 24,671 after exploitation of a single account through a Cosmos EVM precompile vulnerability ^{[1] [4]}.
