Bitget plans staged withdrawal restart after hack, updates losses to $388M and announces recovery bounty
Bitget plans to restart withdrawals in stages on Sept. 28, beginning with Bitcoin, with Ether, USDT and other services scheduled to follow through Oct. 2. Other reporting also lists XRP among the assets set to resume [1] [2].
Reports put the stolen amount at about $351.6 million to $352 million in initial estimates, then $387.5 million to $388 million after further investigation; one report said the investigation identified additional stolen funds on Zcash and TRON [3] [4] [5] [6].
Bitget announced a recovery bounty of 5% for freezing stolen assets and a further 5% for recovering them. Reports also said Circle and Tether froze about $318,000 linked to attacker wallets [3] [4] [6].
