France postpones 2027 budget vote as exit-tax plans are rejected and stablecoin-swap tax remains
France’s National Assembly postponed a vote on the revenue section of the 2027 budget for a second time. The first-reading examination is due to conclude by Nov. 17, according to Cointelegraph [1].
Lawmakers rejected proposals for a crypto exit tax on gains when residents move abroad, while a proposed tax on crypto-to-stablecoin swaps remains in the provisional budget text. The swap tax would apply even when users do not convert holdings into fiat currency [2] [3] [4].
