Russia to require intermediaries for direct crypto trades from July 2027 and restrict wallet transfers
Russia will prohibit residents from trading cryptocurrency directly with one another from July 1, 2027, requiring transactions to go through intermediaries authorized by the Bank of Russia, according to reports on the central bank’s rules [1] [2] [3].
The rules also restrict transfers from regulated digital accounts to personal or self-custody wallets, according to reports summarizing the guidance [2] [4] [3].
