ZachXBT links over $133M in suspected crypto theft to European entity, alleges breach concealment
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT said he traced more than $27 million in additional suspicious withdrawals from centralized exchanges, raising the amount linked to a suspected crypto theft involving an unidentified European entity to more than $133 million. He said some withdrawals occurred after his initial disclosure [1] [2] [3].
ZachXBT speculated that a major Western European financial institution may have been compromised and accused it of concealing the breach. He said timely disclosure might have allowed EU authorities to freeze more than $30 million. The victim’s identity and actual losses have not been confirmed in the available reporting [1] [4].
